CoronaVoyage Episode 7: Desserted Dublin

CoronaVoyage Episode 7: Desserted Dublin
Broadcast media travel expert Stephanie Abrams takes viewers on a tour of The Merrion Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Meet General Manager Peter MacCann and Head Pastry Chef Paul Kelly. Stephanie meets Chef Paul in the Merrion’s Garden Room Restaurant to plan a midnight visit to the hotel’s Pastry Kitchen where nightly preparations result in an artist’s palate of colorful sensational pastries freshly baked during the night for morning meetings and events around the hotel and breakfast in the Garden Room for guests. Stephanie’s encounter with Pastry Chef Paul started after breakfast at the hotel when Stephanie was compelled to meet the person in charge of producing A-1 Amazing croissants which, in general, can ONLY be found in France with rare exception. “These were incredible and authentic croissants and not the doughy, bready, overly sweetened things they call croissants in Italy, Spain, the US and elsewhere where you don’t get flakey exteriors and honey-combed interiors that are light and delicious. I had to meet the baker-in-chief responsible for these works of art!” Stephanie says. WARNING: Do not watch this when you are hungry as it may result in binge eating!
CoronaVoyage Episode 6
In Vlog #6, broadcast travel expert Stephanie Abrams takes viewers for a drive along the shoreline of the Irish Sea in County Antrim with spectacular views and a peak at fairly deserted towns and villages including Carrigfergus where the fabulous Carrigfergus Castle is located, a Must Visit place when it’s open again! Note that the statue outside of the castle sports a CoronaMask! And while we drive about, we’re listening to Radio Kerry’s Deirdre Walsh, presenter/host, interviewing Stephanie about her visit to Kerry just before the Iron Curtain of Illness fell locking down the island that is Ireland when Stephanie and her husband, Mark, chose County Antrim, Northern Ireland as the place they’d hunker down for the duration of their CoronaVoyage. Then it’s off to chat with Mark Leslie by video in County Dublin for his insights and video-by-drone of Sandycove, the Irish Sea at his front door, and a bit of watching how local lobster fishermen drop their cocoons, lobster pots, for the day’s catch. Enjoy. . . and please subscribe to the channel!
