About Stephanie Abrams

When I have guests on Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams, my nationally syndicated radio show heard coast-to-coast, and on Travel TV WITH Stephanie Abrams, my nationally syndicated TV shows, it is expected that the guest will be introduced, generally by me. So I thought, in case you are new to following the mischief that we have been creating focused on travel for about two decades On Radio, On TV, Online and On Location around the world, it might be a good idea to provide you with “introductions” by presenting excerpts from radio broadcasts. These quick intros will give you insights to the insiders’ track we’ll travel along together on radio, on TV, in my blogs, and more archived, presented and preserved here designed to keep you up to date and in the know about all sectors of the travel industry.

This first :57 second audio clip presents Jimmy Deenihan, a minister of Irish government for over 30 years and famous former Irish footballer who played for the Kerry football team and also played rugby. Walking around Ireland with Jimmy is like walking around with someone like Elvis! Everybody knows and admires Jimmy. At the 100th anniversary of Guglielmo Giovanni Marconi, the Father of Radio, celebrating Marconi Day in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry, of the sending of the first voice message across the Atlantic Ocean from Ballybunion to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, Jimmy Deenihan played chaired the committee that created that bench marking occasion. He and I were asked to appear on Radio Kerry in a live broadcast that day, March 19, 2019, so, by way of my introduction to you, here is Jimmy’s introduction of me:

And to round out this introduction, let me introduce you to Narcy Calamatta: actor, producer of TV and film, author, playwright, historian and spokesperson for the Malta Tourism Authority in his role of Special Guide to VIP visitors to Malta. In was in that last capacity that I had the privilege of meeting Narcy with whom my husband and I had the pleasure of learning about Malta over a three day/two night period. When we arrived home from Malta, I realized that I had some unanswered questions that I need to get the answers for and share with my audiences. This short excerpt of that radio interview with Narcy is also, at his engineering, an introduction of me! His surprise remarks left me giggling throughout and I think his comments will make you giggle as well!
This last fellow, a hotel owner of multiple hotels in St. Lucia, was an oft-guest on Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams. He then became Minister of Tourism of St. Lucia and, presently his is, and has been for several years now, the Prime Minister of St. Lucia. Dear friends, here is Prime Minister Alan Chastanet in the days when running his hotels was his only occupation and preoccupation on the air with me and taking time out to provide insights into what we do that helps to educate and motivate people to travel.

While I am entering my third decade as host and executive producer of Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams radio and TV travel shows syndicated nationally in the US and podcast globally, my roots in the travel industry are not in broadcast media! The first crisis of the 21st century, 9/11, bounced me out of my position as a recognized leader inside the travel industry where I am rated one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Travel and have won awards in Travel Marketing, Travel Public Relations, and Travel Advertising during my 16 years as Executive Vice President and second in command of a travel franchise company  reporting  $1.5 Billion in sales.  My invitations to speak with radio audiences nationwide about the crisis in the travel industry caused by terrorism surrounding 9/11 led to an invitation for me to launch Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams in 2002. That show has grown dramatically since then and we have expanded our radio audience weekly and provide podcasts of all shows. Additionally, we, in February, 2018,  Travel TV WITH Stephanie Abrams which is available to over 30 million television households nationally from local TV stations as well as available on the BizVOD channel to those who have ROKU.

I have served on the travel advisory boards as diverse as Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Hong Kong Tourism Authority/Board, SystemOne Unison Advisory Board, Amadeus International Advisory Board, the International Affairs Committee of the International Franchise Association, the American Society of Travel Agents/Advisors Council of Travel Marketing Organizations, as well as served in an advisory position for hotels and resorts in the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Ireland.

All of my insider knowledge and my network of colleagues who are now at the heads of major brands in the travel industry and key organizations in travel with whom I served inside of the industry as they, too, were growing and rising in positions of authority in travel, play a foundational role in the accuracy, credibility and quality of the information provided On Air, on radio and television, and Online so that my loyal audiences for 2 decades have confidence in the travel information they receive weekly On Radio, On TV, and Online.

My guests connect with my audiences in person when we travel to visit with them on site and by telephone when that is not possible. We plan our programming to be current, timely while generally not time-sensitive, and pertinent.

My mission is present to my audiences on air, online, in my writings and at public appearances, with information that I hope will motivate them to travel to places where the experiences they have result in them being enriched, enhanced, inspired and uplifted and, somehow, know that they are better people because of the experience they just had whether they are traveling for pleasure of business.
