Hour 1 of a 2-hour interview:

The Weekend of September 11, 2021 on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11:

In honor and memory of the passengers, the crew and the especially brave passengers on United Airlines Flight 93 who stood up to the hijackers of their flight who had intentions of crashing the plane into the US Capitol Building, we dedicate this weekend of programming which was recorded last week for presentation this weekend. We are focused on Bedfore, Pennsylania which is located about a 36 miles away from Stonycreek, Pennsylvania where Flight 93 was brought down by the brave souls who gave their lives to make sure that that plane did not reach Washington, DC. We look forward to visiting Bedford, PA and Stonycreek soon and will bring you more information about all this bit of Americana has to offer the travelers and the tourist. For all those planning to drive southward for the winter, I recommend that you create an itinerary on your southward and northward journeys in fall and spring to include the darling slice of Colonial America, is hundreds of years of American history as well as its more recent events that make it memorable in the town and neighboring towns, including Stonycreek where a unique and touching memorial has been erected to honor the passengers and their rugged American spirit that was determined to protect our country from further disaster and harm , none of which should ever be forgotten. This weekend’s programming, heard coast to coast is also heard on WBDF AM 1310 and WBDF FM 98.7 which originate from their studios in Bedford, Pennsylvania. We hope that Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams’ programming this weekend will provide travel information that will motivate you to put Bedford, PA and Stonycreek on your MUST VISIT list.

Please note that, in Hour 1 on September 11, 2021, I will recount my unusual experience exactly 20 years ago aboard an early morning flight from Newark, NJ to St. Louis, Missouri. That flight was a one-stop with no change of plane destined to terminate in San Antonio although CNN and other news outlets reported that that was a flight to San Antonio that got diverted to St. Louis. Not so! I was on the first leg of that direct flight to St. louis that would have meant no change of plane for passengers on the flight originating at Newark International Airport, later named Newark Liberty International Airport. Although the NYTimes, the Washington Post and CNN, as well as other news outlets getting their info from the same places, all reported that the flight plan was to fly from Newark to San Antonio and was diverted to land in St. Louis when the first of the Twin Towers was hit, that was not the case because I was on that flight with a colleague from my company destined to land in St. Louis where we were met by those we had flown the St. Louis’ airport to work with. The archived audio shared here about 9/11/2001, now on the 20th anniversary of that event, is presented in Hour 1 with my personal insights about being on a plane with 2 men with box cutters. The stories that came out in the fall of 2001 are vastly different from what you find online today and, with all of my research online, I can’t find some of the pertinent original stories which makes me wonder who may have been embarrassed by early releases and are busy revising history to avoid humiliation. But the world stopped long-haul traveling by air for almost 36 months and even short flights were affected as people did not want to go to airports after 9/11. And who could blame the. But what we face today with Covid is even more devastating to the travel industry. I look forward to your feed back on our 9/11/21 and 9/12/21 programming.

  1. Hi Stephanie, Can’t find an email for you. Hope you see this. I enjoyed your novel, RUMORS; it gets the reader right into it on page 1 and doesn’t stop. Thanks!

Wow, Laura! Thanks for the update! I hope you’ll share your remarks at the site of the online bookseller where you bought RUMORS and I hope your husband reads it too . . . and then tell everyone you know how much you enjoyed it! If you can get a group of 5 or more people who have read RUMORS together, I’d love to schedule an online MeetUp to talke with your circle of friends and/or book club! I’m planning to do a number of these book chats online in 2021 so there’s time for people to order RUMORS in print or ebook and have time to read it before whatever date we decide on. More info is provided in the section at sAbrams.net called “ABOUT.’ Keep in touch! Hugs, Stephanie
