This is an historic episode of Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams. While Stephanie often has one guest for an entire hour because of the combination of their intensely interesting information and the entertaining way in which this travel-related information is delivered by the guest and, on rare occasion, carries one guest over from one hour of the radio show to a second hour, in this episode, Stephanie holds this guest, Mark Leslie, over from Hour 1 into Hour 2 and through Hour 3 providing listeners with an incredible visit with this extraordinary man. Mark Leslie, who grew up living in Castle Leslie in County Monaghan, Ireland, is a first cousin (once removed) of Winston Churchill, as Mark’s grandmother and Winston Churchill’s mother were sisters, Leoni Jerome Leslie and Jennie Jerome Churchill making Mark’s father, Desmond Leslie and Winston Churchill first cousins. The Leslie family’s history includes such memorable historic figures as the Duke of Wellington and so many artifacts, including Winston’s Christening Gown, are enshrined at Castle Leslie which operates as a castle hotel in the historic mansion as well as having boutique accommodations on the grounds of an area of the 1000 acre estate in Castle Leslie’s Equestrian Centre. Pour yourself a glass or your favorite drink, have a snack or two available at your fingertips and settle in to enjoy this extraordinary exchange between travel expert Stephanie Abrams and Mark Leslie, live from Dún Laoghaire in County Dublin, Ireland.

Hour 1: With the news flooded with attention to racism, in general, and racism within the royal establishment of the UK, in particular, Stephanie focuses on travel as a solution to racism, a subject she has addressed for decades as the mechanism to create bonds between people and diverse cultures in keeping with Mark Twain’s 1800’s comment, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.

Then join Stephanie as she chats with Eamon O’Cuiv in Ireland and Malachy Mc Court in New York City:

Hour 2: Eamon O’Cuiv, TD Irish Government, Connemara, Galway, Ireland.

STEPHANIE ABRAMS rebroadcasts interview with Eamon O’Cuiv in wrap up weekend celebrating St. Patrick’s Day 2021.
Hour 3: Guest: Malachy McCourt, Author, Actor, Celebrity Personality, New York City, New York, USA
While media travel expert Stephanie Abrams had plans to interview author, actor, raconteur, wit, owner of the first Singles Bar in New York City and key figure in the Pulitzer Prize winning memoir written by his brother, Frank McCourt, featured in the book and film, “Angela’s Ashes,” Malachy McCourt, for this weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day wrap up, Malachy regrettably took a fall and broke his leg on the day before St. Patrick’s Day 2021. Since surgery was required and planned for, of all day, St. Patrick’s Day, not only did this unexpected procedure mandate the cancellation of his new appearance on Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams but also nullified Malachy’s appearance, even by internet, to be present at a ceremony led by NYC’s Mayor Di Blasio naming St. Patrick’s Day 2021 “Malachy McCourt Day” and honoring Malachy as “Irishman of the Year.”
Since Malachy McCourt is a dear friend of travel expert Stephanie Abrams and a frequent guest on Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams, Stephanie shares a recent interview with Malachy recorded while Stephanie and her husband, Mark Abrams, Remote Producer for Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams and Travel TV WITH Stephanie Abrams, were in “Lough Down,” Stephanie’s description of being in “lockdown” in 2020 in Ireland and Northern Ireland which extended their planned trip from three weeks to to FIVE (5) MONTHS. During that time, Stephanie caught up with Malachy McCourt who lives in NYC. Malachy’s interview is rebroadcast here. Enjoy!

  1. Hi Stephanie, Can’t find an email for you. Hope you see this. I enjoyed your novel, RUMORS; it gets the reader right into it on page 1 and doesn’t stop. Thanks!

Wow, Laura! Thanks for the update! I hope you’ll share your remarks at the site of the online bookseller where you bought RUMORS and I hope your husband reads it too . . . and then tell everyone you know how much you enjoyed it! If you can get a group of 5 or more people who have read RUMORS together, I’d love to schedule an online MeetUp to talke with your circle of friends and/or book club! I’m planning to do a number of these book chats online in 2021 so there’s time for people to order RUMORS in print or ebook and have time to read it before whatever date we decide on. More info is provided in the section at called “ABOUT.’ Keep in touch! Hugs, Stephanie
