Sir Norman was the son of Sir Shane Leslie and American socialite Leonie Jerome Leslie whose sister, Lady Jennie Jerome Churchill was Winston Churchill’s mother making Sir Norman a first cousin of Winston. Travel Expert Stephanie Abrams’ great friend, Mark Leslie, son of Desmond Leslie, another of Leonie’s sons, is 1st cousin once removed of Winston Churchill, who digitized photographs from the Leslie Family album and shared them with Stephanie for her use in personalizing the “Downton Abbey” experience for her fans and followers. (See Edwardian Country Life photos at sabrams.net which include photos of Princess Elizabeth at about age 7, later to become Queen Elizabeth II, and Princess Margaret, her younger sister.

Hour 3 Guest: Lady Fiona Canarvon, Highclere Castle a/k/a “Downton Abbey,” Hampshire, England, UK. www.HighclereCastle.co.uk
With the premiere of the second Downton Abbey film expected in the US in cinemas on May 20, 2022, travel expert Stephanie Abrams rebroadcasts the second of three radio interviews she has done since Downton Abbey entered homes by television in the successful and award-winning series by the same name. Currently the home of Lord George Herbert, 8th Earl of Carnarvon, resides there with Lady Fiona Canarvon and their family in Hampshire in the English countryside, five miles south of Newbury, Berkshire (pronounced Bark-sheer). Stephanie remarks that it seems fitting to have the Berkshire Museum in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, pronounced (Burke-sheer) and Highclere Castle near Newbury, Berkshire in the same program. Lady Fiona talks with Stephanie about Downton Abbey, the history of Highclere Castle and the Egyptian Exhibit at Highclere Castle that reflects the archeological expeditions made by the 3rd Earl of Canarvon who funded Howard Carter’s expedition to Egypt that unearthed King Tut’s Tomb. Pour a “cuppa” from your best silver tea service and sit in on the conversation!

Guest: John Porter, Owner, Bowben Inn, Garberville, California, USA www.BenbowInn.com
Benbow Inn is a member of Historic Hotels of America, a group of unique, historic and high quality, pampering hotels that meet the rigid criteria for quality and service established by that organization. The hotel is located near the Redwood Highway/Avenue of the Giants that is 39 miles long and offers a unique experience for travelers. Finished in July 1926, Benbow Inn continues to provide guests with a sense of stepping into a quieter and gentler time at the height of the 1920’s when “fun” and “chic” intersected in an explosion of joyful living which can still be found in the atmosphere of Benbow Inn. Nearby are walking trails, fishing, and golfing at the Benbow Golf Course beside the Benbow KOA camping grounds. The 9-hole course offers relaxation and the fun of the sport while leaving plenty of time to explore this northern California region. Learn more about this Must Visit hotel and region in this chat with John Porter.
Hi Stephanie, Can’t find an email for you. Hope you see this. I enjoyed your novel, RUMORS; it gets the reader right into it on page 1 and doesn’t stop. Thanks!
Wow, Laura! Thanks for the update! I hope you’ll share your remarks at the site of the online bookseller where you bought RUMORS and I hope your husband reads it too . . . and then tell everyone you know how much you enjoyed it! If you can get a group of 5 or more people who have read RUMORS together, I’d love to schedule an online MeetUp to talke with your circle of friends and/or book club! I’m planning to do a number of these book chats online in 2021 so there’s time for people to order RUMORS in print or ebook and have time to read it before whatever date we decide on. More info is provided in the section at sAbrams.net called “ABOUT.’ Keep in touch! Hugs, Stephanie
